Explanation: Maybe the result of the daily routine of the school day, I became fascinated with the concept of repetition. I became fascinated with how doing the same task day after day can result in something more grand than than a single day. With this in mind, I folded paper triangles of the same size and shape, until they could be arranged into a globe. Won the Honorable mention reward from the Scholastic Art Contest

Explanation: This piece was inspired by a scene when my grandmother was making a sweater for me using yarns. By using the repetition of the wire and wrapping the yarns around the wires, it gives a visual view of how things are tied together even with a single piece of yarn. As you play with this piece, you can sort of adjust different angles and different shapes.

Explanation: The bottom part of this piece is a mouth, with the line curved on the mouth, it gives people a sense that the mouth is about to open up but not opened. And the thing on the top is just like the invisible pressure for us. Something, we don't get a chance to speak up or tell the truth because of the "invisible pressure"from the outside.

Explanation: I walk out of my dorm room, one cube in a line of many, and walk into my classroom, one cube in a line of many. In this piece, I again am interested in repetition, but use only a repetition of shape, instead changing the size and arrangement of the cubes in space. I wanted to explore a more creative use of space by changing the arrangement of the cubes I am so familiar with.

Explanation: After seeing the water quality in a rural Chinese village, I was inspired to create a water filter with the resources that I have in America. Using a PVC pipe and various minerals as a filter, we were able to take murky water and make it run clear.
